Lemon Ginger Detox Tea

I love natural and herbal remedies in my daily wellness regimen and one of my all time favorites I don't go without is ginger and lemon. I make sure the first sip I consume every morning is a warm cup of ginger and lemon tea. I know some people like to add in some honey but I like the full detox and flavor with just ginger and lemon. But be sure to buy organic ingredients so you're not consuming too much pesticides as I like to keep the peel on for extra health boosting benefits.

Ginger is a wonderful overall health aid that not only help to detox and get rid of water retention but also help prevent inflammation by reducing cell signal activity, which in turn can boost not only your metabolism but is also gives you a wonderful immunity boost - just what we need during flu season, as well as, our current pandemic from Covid-19. But what I really love about ginger is that it helps curb my appetite so I don't over indulge throughout the day, plus a host of other benefits from better sleep to blood and chi flow throughout the body.

Lemons are full of vitamin and most importantly vitamin C, minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants and folate. Just a quarter cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice contains 31 percent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C, 3 percent of folate and 2 percent of potassium. Lemons boosts immunity and help neutralize free radicals in our body.

I usually slice up a few pieces of organic ginger and pour in 8 oz of boiling water and let it steep for 10-15 minutes. Then I squeeze the juice of half a lemon and once the ginger water has cooled down but warmer than room temperature, I would add in the lemon juice, add a slice of lemon and slowly consume while I prepare breakfast. During winter, I would drink another cup of just ginger tea before bedtime and noticed it keep me warm throughout the night. Cheers!
